Wardrobe Goals: 2015 & 2016!

Hello friends! <3

It's that time of year again where I review the wardrobe goals I set for myself last year and set new ones for the upcoming year. Read on to see how I did ;-)

Curious about earlier wardrobe goals?

2014 & 2015

Wardrobe goals: 2015!

1.) Clear out beginner items/impulse buys/brand things that did not work for one reason or another. They are just taking up space :-P
This is still a work in progress. Sold off some items, and still working on others. Doing good so far though.

2.) Focus on quality rather than quantity. Brand only for dresses, socks, purses, and jewelry!
Excellent progress here. I've tried to stick with brand items as much as possible with just the occasional off-brand item working its way in.

3.) Work on crossing items off my wishlist. (Mostly Angelic Pretty <3)
Good progress here too. I've gotten a bunch of items from it but it takes time. I know certain ones  will be harder to find than others and I'm okay with that.

4.) Stay more up to date on Angelic Pretty releases. I tend to find out about them just after everything's been sold out :-P

Excellent progress here. Since joining the updates group on Facebook, I know about almost every new release before its posted for sale. Now I have to decide which ones are worth trying for.
(Mulan reference- What do we want? A print worth fighting for...)

5.) Add more pink and blue jsks! Or perhaps something with a chocolate or book print?

Excellent progress here too. Added more pink and blue (well navy to more exact) jsks. No chocolate or book print yet though :-(

6.) Add a lavender blouse!

Done! Found a nice long-sleeved one with ruffles <3

7.) Add more tights and otks!

Still a work in progress. I added a few pairs that work, but others I'm having the same problem of some not fitting properly.

8.) Add a pair of blue, mint, lavender, or gold shoes!

Still a work in progress. Added a pair in blue.

Wardrobe goals: 2016!

1.) Less impulse buying! I've ended up with some things that I did not originally plan on buying. (I'm looking at you Holy Lantern, Dreamy Jewel, Merry Bunny, etc.) While I love all of them, some I probably could have done without.

2.) Work on obtaining Wishlist items! I've gone through and updated my Wishlist according to high, medium, and low priority. Hopefully that should help me stay organized in my search. Specific items to focus on are...

a.) Gold shoes! Gold seems to be a re-occurring accent color in jsks and matching gold shoes would make my coords look even better.

b.) White otks with a pastel colored print! I have a couple of pairs that I seem to wear repeatedly since they match so well with everything. I don't want them to wear out too quickly.

c.) Lavender, light blue, and mint jsks! I tend to focus on other colors more and don't have much for these colors.

3.) Avoid high-waisted jsks! They don't work too well for me :-(

4.) Experiment more when coording! Such as trying new color combinations, hairstyles, nails, etc. Sometimes it's the little things that can help make that perfect coord extra special and stand out.

Thoughts:

The blue is a nice color and is similar to the pic that was online. I love the adorable animals around the border. The background print features rosettes, present boxes, crowns and other interesting details. The headbow features golden star charms, but they are plastic upon closer inspection. I would have preferred they used metal instead like some of the older headbows have (such as Star Night Theater). The jsk has full shirring in the back and no zipper. I both like and dislike this last bit. The zipper makes getting into and out of the jsk easier, but it can also be difficult to zip in the bust area. This jsk also features the little skirt flaps like Elizabeth Unicorn. I think they're pretty cute :-)

Elizabeth Unicorn & Merry Bunny Opening (Part 1)!

Hi friends! <3

Yesterday I received a big package at the door. It was my items from Tenso! I am so excited to share the big opening of it with you :-)

I got Angelic Pretty's Elizabeth Unicorn Jsk (navy), and Merry Bunny Jsk with the matching headbow (blue).

Thoughts:

Right after removing the jsk from the plastic wrapping, I noticed that the blue color was different from what I was expecting. Based on pictures that I had seen online I was thinking it would be a brighter jewel-toned hue. In person it seems to be more muted which lets the print be the main focus. I love how elegant the details are; from the curling ribbons and dainty carousel horses to the gold braid trim around the front panel. The little flaps on the waist remind me of an overskirt and help to enhance the feeling of elegance. Also interesting to note, is that although the back has shirring and laces up, there are no waist ties. Very unusual since most of the dresses that I own have waist ties. I'm not sure if this is a new trend for Angelic Pretty or what. Not that I mind. They can be quite tricky to tie sometimes.
