My Tea Collection/Sip Down Begins!

Hi friends! <3

I just joined a tea fan group on Facebook to help encourage myself to drink more tea. Most of the members have a lot of tea or are trying to focus on finishing up ones that they have had awhile or dislike. I think it's a great idea to have a group for this sort of thing. I don't think I have that much, but I would like to start getting more into tea, especially loose leaf types. I tend to just buy boxes with like 20 or 30 tea bags since I only drink tea occasionally. They will keep fresh longer that way too.

I keep my tea stored in this box on the counter to save space...

My collection features boxed packets, some loose leaf ones, and random single packets...

Celestial Seasonings: Citrus Sunrise
Harris Teeter: Pomegranate White
Teavana: Golden Dragon Oolong
Ito En: Matcha Green

Since I joined so late in the month, I decided to work on the Teavana: Golden Dragon and some of the single packets. Starting off with this Tea Forte: Swiss Apple one... Wish me luck! :-)

UB Mini Con!

Hi friends! <3

A local anime convention had a early mini version going on. So, I went with a friend and my boyfriend. There were vendors, panels, and video game tournaments. Admission was free too (unless you entered into the gaming tournaments).

That same day was also Community Day for Pokémon Go. Chimchar was the featured pokémon with the increased possibility of finding the shiny version. I had a difficult time with my game freezing up frequently, but managed to catch at least one shiny.

The vendor area had some interesting items available. Figures, handmade accessories, etc. I liked this Aggretsuko notebook with her various moods depicted inside.

There was even a tea room/panel with assorted teas and snacks.

I got pretzels, candy, and tried out the chocolate tea.

Went across the hall, to an anime viewing room/panel. Watched some Fairy Tail while waiting for my tea to cool down. The tea was alright; kind of bitter though. Eating some of the chocolate candy helped to add that needed sugar.

Then we went to the food court for a tasty lunch. I had the pork cutlet. Went back home afterwards. It was a nice day out :-)

Tea Time: Sweet Tart!

Hi friends! <3

My sister came to visit over the weekend and brought some tea with her. Apparently she's a big fan of the David's Teas. This is one of her favorites (hence the large container), but she was fine sharing some so I could give it a try.

???- Sweet Tart- Canada

Inside...

Letting it steep...

Mmm...

Thoughts:

I really liked this one! It has a gentle fruity and sweet smell when you first open the tin. The tea brews into a nice rich red color. It tastes sweet like cherry pie filling and then ends on a slightly tart note. I didn't add any milk or sweeteners. I was thinking maybe a bit of sugar would be good, but then it might ruin the flavor too much. I am considering getting this for my own sometime.

Tea Time: Lemon Lavender Lane!

Hi friends! <3

I kept meaning to make additional posts and continue with this series, but yeah... Sorry for the delay. Now I'm back and ready to go. I got this one from Wal-Mart.

About $3- Lemon Lavender Lane Tea- USA

Let's open it up...

Single packet...

I'm going to use this mug...

Letting it steep...

Ooh...

Mmm...

Thoughts:

I was originally drawn to the tea because the packaging had cute little foxes on it. Foxes are my favorite animal. Then I saw what the flavor was and decided to give it a try. I've never had lavender tea before. This one had a light citrusy-lavender scent. I liked the lemon flavor, but the lavender part was weird to me. I did not like the overall taste very much. I ended up giving the tea to a friend instead. I would not get it again.

Chilly Day Out!

Hi friends! <3

After creating that spooky/Halloween themed coord last time, I was quite looking forward to a nice day out. However, it was pouring rain and very windy. I ended up delaying my plans until the next day instead. The weather was still chilly, but barely noticeable with all my layers. I went to the local mall which has a large antique store at one end along with a couple smaller vintage/collectables type stores. I collect Disney pins (especially Duffy and Shellie Mae ones) and wanted to see if there were some new ones to find for my collection. It's also just fun to wander around and see all the interesting items on display.

These tea cups and saucers were so pretty. I liked the one in the middle with the blue flowers...

And these adorable original Care Bears (from the 80's) <3

I also visited Duchess, the alligator. She is a rescue animal and the store has special permission to keep/display her for educational purposes. She has gotten a lot bigger since last time I was there...

After the antique store, I passed by a toy store with these cute plushies called Squishables. I have the vanilla cupcake version at home. It is super soft and huggable. That cake slice one really tempted me though...

This pegasus was pretty awesome too!

The last store I went in was giving out free popcorn, which was a tasty, surprise treat. I didn't end up buying anything today, but I enjoyed my day out. It's been too long since I last frilled up. I may have to do this again sometime.
