Asa Ransom House Tea Take 2 Meet-up!

Hi friends! <3

Went back to the tea house again. It was supposed to be a larger group, but ended up being another small one after some people backed out last minute. I still had a nice time.

Lovely table setting...

Fancy tea cup and napkin...

Mmm Paris tea...

Love it <3

Yay, the tower arrived...

Finger sandwiches and scones...

Tiny tasty desserts...

After tea, we did some antiquing. I enjoyed looking at the various styles and designs of all the tea cups. There were a few I liked and the prices were good, but nothing I *had* to buy.

In another section, I found a pretty pink Aynsley one! Almost got it too, but thought it was a bit much at the time. Love the ridges and rose detail...

We finished antiquing but weren't quite ready to go home yet, so we decided to wander around the mall. Got some yummy bubble tea too; jasmine green with strawberry bubbles.

Tea Time: Pomegranate White!

Hi friends! <3

Found another one at Real Deals to try out.

$1- Harris Teeter: Pomegranate White- USA

Opening it up...

Single sachet...

Let's steep it up...

There we go...

Ready...

Such a nice color...

Mmm...

Thoughts:

This tea was awful! There was no pomegranate flavor at all. It just tasted like hibiscus water. I checked the ingredients list and pomegranate is not even listed anywhere. I'm thinking it may have been a factory defect batch that ended up at the store. I know they sometimes get one-offs and discontinued items. I would not get this again. Not sure what to do with the rest of the box though. Maybe mix it with something else?

Tea Time: Matcha Latte!

Hi friends! <3

Got a latte mix to try out from the Asian grocery store.

$3.99- Tradition: Matcha Latte- Taiwan

Opening it up...

Single packet...

Let's get started...

Fine powder mix...

Ready...

Ooh that color...

Mmm...

Thoughts:

I liked this tea! I found it interesting that there was milk powder from New Zealand in it. I didn't know what made that an important factor. But after some research, I learned that it is supposedly more nutritious and tasty than others. The tea tasted grassy and smooth although kind of bitter. It may have been created like that or from being stored in the cupboard for awhile. I would add some sugar or a splash of creamer to help correct that. Mine was also somewhat watery, but I think that was because I over-estimated the amount of water needed. If I had used a smaller cup with less water, it would have been better. The price is good too, since you get six packets in a box. I would probably get this again.

Jan Sip Down Progress & Feb Goals!

Hi friends! <3

Since December went so well, I decided to keep the momentum going. I thought my success was due to the fact that I was getting used to drinking tea almost every day, but then I had a week where I just couldn't drink any. I decided not to push it and take a break for the moment. Later on, I was able to resume my tea drinking. Has anyone else had this happen?

In January, I was able to get through a few cups of the Teavana: Golden Dragon, half of the Tetley: Balance tin sachets, and three Lipton: Matcha Green sachets :-)

I bought this frother at a thrift store and the pretty tin from someone in one of the tea fan groups online. I think they will come in handy...

**********
For February, I'm going to continue with Teavana: Golden Dragon, finish up Tetley: Balance & Lipton: Matcha Green, use up some samples (DavidsTea: Cream of Earl Grey, Tea and Absinthe: White Cherry & Spicy Pear), and start working on the other two boxes (Tradition: Matcha Latte and Harris Teeter: Pomegranate White).
