Day #52-58: Lifestyle Lolita Challenge!

Hi friends! <3
Continuing along with the daily challenges...
**********************************************************

 I used the site http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Identify-Constellations/

Then for fun, I compared it to Angelic Pretty's Cosmic print ;-)

Cool, huh?

**********************************************************

Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. I love how the colors look together and the swirling brushstrokes make me think of a cool night breeze.

And here's the coord... <3

Featuring:
 Angelic Pretty "Cosmic" headbow
Offbrand blouse and tights
Innocent World "Starry Keynote Embroidered" bag
Innocent World "Moonlit Walk Just Waist" jsk
Bodyline shoes

**********************************************************

These plastic boxes are great for storing my accessories. The smaller ones hold necklaces, bracelets/wristcuffs, earrings, rings, and brooches/pins. The larger ones hold headbows, headbands, hair clips, and waist ties. My brand jewelry items are stored in a large jewelry box on my dresser

**********************************************************

Completed. An interesting read. My favorite one was A Princess greets everyone with a welcoming smile, melting the hearts of friends and disarming her enemies. I think everyone should be friendly and get along without having conflict. When meeting new people, a smile can start things off in a positive way.
**********************************************************

Went back to April of 2011 and looked at sweet style. Many of the coords seem simple with a few small accessories used as accents. They seem very plain compared to today's coords which have multiple accessories and sometimes over-sized props. It's almost as if there is a "more is better" theme.

**********************************************************

This applies to a couple lolitas I know. Again, not going to name names, but they know who they are.

Watched "Intro to Dipping Pen Handlettered Calligraphy" over on YouTube. Very elegant.

Day #45-51: Lifestyle Lolita Challenge!

Hi friends! <3
Continuing along with the daily challenges...

**********************************************************

I fell in love with Angelic Pretty's Marine Kingdom in this cut and colorway when I first saw a stock pic of it online. Was lucky to obtain it during the release with the help of my boyfriend. The print is gorgeous in person and I love all the little details it has. Hoping to find the matching headbow someday. Let me know if you see it somewhere, okay? ;-)

**********************************************************

These ones sound fun to play... (More here)

The Minister’s Cat
Another easy around-the-table activity, the Minister’s Cat begins with one player describing said cat with an adjective that starts with the letter A. Each player follows suit until everyone has named an A-word, and play continues using the letters B, C, and so on. Players are disqualified if they can’t think of an adjective or if they repeat one, until only the winner is left. Modernize the game by replacing minister with your favorite designer’s name—for instance, “Tony Duquette’s cat is a very amusing cat.”

Throwing the Smile
Start this jovial game by having one player smile widely at the others before using his or her hand to wipe the smile away, replacing it with a straight face, and gesture as if throwing the smile at another player. The receiver catches the smile, plastering it across his or her own face, and repeats the process. Play continues as the smile is tossed around, and players are eliminated if they show so much as a smirk out of turn, until a winner is left. Tip: Get comical and try the trick with different expressions, like a frown, a face of disgust, or a look of shock.

**********************************************************

Do thrift stores count? I love wandering around them. You never know what kinds of interesting things you'll find. I've gotten some great blouses and jewelry for wearing with my lolita coords.

Completed. Very interesting questions. Not sure how to score my results but it was fun to do :-)

Part A ---> No = 18, Yes = 8

Part B---> No = 4, Yes = 5, Trivia = Knew about half of them, Fill-in-the-blanks: Only knew a few

My first "official" lolita dress is this strawberry printed one by Bodyline. A friend had it for sale and I thought the strawberries were cute. The price was decent too, so i thought why not? It's perfect for wearing in the summertime to picnics.

Thoughts:

I love the otks <3 They seems to be made of a thick stretchy material, almost like tights. Hopefully they will be able to stretch some and fit well. The jsk is gorgeous and the pegasus ponies look like they are made of stained glass. The sheer overlay is a lovely feature. It looks to have a bit of shimmer to it and the lace trim has stars. After trying it on, I think I'll have to move the buttons down an inch or so and re-attach them. The bodice sits up a bit too high to fit properly in the bust area. This is my preferred version so I have the original OP version up for sale here (in case anyone is interested) ;-)

Thoughts:

I was surprised to find this print again, but in navy so soon after buying the ones in white. I thought why not? These will go great with Marine Kingdom and maybe a couple other jsks <3
