What Would Be an Item or Accessory That You Wish You Had More of...

Hi friends! <3

This topic is a bit difficult for me. As a lolita who's been in the fashion for nine years, I've built up a fairly well-rounded wardrobe. Most of what I have is fairly interchangeable and goes with multiple things. I periodically review it to see what's missing and add items to my wishlist so I can search for them later.

After some thinking, I decided gothic accessories would be my topic, rings in particular!

Since acquiring multiple Moi Meme Moitie dresses over the past few years, I've noticed that gothic accessories are seriously lacking in my wardrobe. I've picked up things as I found them gradually; a veil, couple pairs of otks, bunch of cross necklaces, rectangular headdress, and a headband. But one kind of accessory has me stumped... rings. I have a lot of rings, but out of all the possible ones I could use, I believe they are more suited to sweet style (star, unicorn, rose, and bow shapes).  I did get a couple rings from Automatic Honey that I thought would work, but they don't seem gothic enough.

Gothic rings tend to be bold type statement pieces. I would love to have a few to wear in black, silver, or white. And preferably not just crosses. I have seen some rings by Voodooodolly online and even purchased one recently, but failed to notice that it was framed in gold when silver would have been a better choice. I suppose I could always use non-lolita rings, but I don't think it looks quite the same.

Gothic lolitas, what do you do? Where are some good places to find gothic rings? I would love to hear your input, or if you are selling some inexpensive ones leave links below. Thanks!

Survey Giveaway Prize Opening!

Hi friends! <3

I've got a super special opening to share with you. It's my prize from the survey giveaway that KawaiiFluffyJo did on her YouTube channel. She did a survey asking for feedback to improve her channel and I joined in. I love watching her videos and thought it would be a good opportunity to help out. (Well, that and I really wanted the pin after she showed it in an earlier video lol.)

If you haven't heard of her channel, you should definitely check it out at FluffyKawaiiJo. She does a lot of lolita related content such as unboxings, hauls, meet-ups, coord with me, etc. She also started an interesting new series called Action Lolita featuring lolitas doing non-traditional type activities. Her motto is "Everybody can be Kawaii." She has her own business based in Switzerland that makes cute clothes, accessories, and stationary items for lolitas, called Fluffy Tori. Check that out too if you can ;-)

Now then, on to the opening!

I put the pin on my coat collar for now, so I can wear it every day. I'm looking forward to including it in a lolita coord sometime soon :-)

Thoughts:

I never thought I would buy another Bodyline dress since selling off all the Bodyline skirts and dresses in my wardrobe. They were great and inexpensive pieces for me when I first started out in lolita. However, the quality was not the best. Over the years, I acquired more and more brand dresses. Which is what I tend to wear most of the time now.

I had saw this dress for sale online once before, thought it was cute, but passed on it since it was way too small for me. I checked lolibrary and saw that even the biggest size it came in would still not fit me. I gave up on it and continued browsing the sales. A while later, I saw it come up for sale again in a bigger size than had been listed on lolibrary. According to the measurements, it would fit me. I ended up going for it since I did not know if I would see it again anytime soon.

The quality is surprisingly good. It has neatly done stitching, partial back shirring with ribbon lacing, and a side zip. The fabric is nice as well. I would say it is of a medium thickness that doesn't feel super cheap or look shiny. I did notice a few small marks/stains on the underside of the sailor collar. It will hopefully come out with a little bit of soap and water on a damp washcloth. The little bow on the front is detachable. I was unsure about the two rows of buttons, but it looks fine. The skirt portion even has room underneath for a nice poofy petti!

Along with it being a cute jsk, I also bought this with the intention of wearing it to an upcoming special event (Sailor Moon Super Live in NYC). I'm thinking of doing a Sailor Jupiter inspired coord with it. I could put my hair up in a ponytail and wear my rose earrings :-)

Share Your Most Prized Dress, Headpiece, & Accessory...

Hi friends! <3

As a lolita, you tend to acquire a lot of items in your wardrobe over time.  Dresses, skirts, blouses, along with various headpieces, and accessories. Some are useful when coording, some are not. This week's prompt has us sharing our most prized dress, headpiece, and accessory.

My most prized dress would be this Moi Meme Moitie "Divine Cross" jsk. It is a special edition that was only sold in the Sendai store in Japan. I purchased it secondhand from a friend a couple years ago at a decent price. While I am mainly a sweet lolita, I love the gold details of the print and lace <3 It is very comfortable to wear due to the shirring (partial in front and full in back), and it makes me feel very elegant.

For headpiece, I went with my (first and only) bonnet from Triple Fortune. I got it at Ruffle Con in 2017 direct from the Triple Fortune booth. I had originally wanted a navy or black one, but once I saw this version, that was it. I wore it the next day together with my DDC jsk and BTSSB gold scepter. I truly felt like a princess. It's so beautiful and I wish there were more special occasions to wear it.

And lastly, for accessory, I chose the Innocent World "Rose Lace" bag. I love to read and the existence of a book shaped purse is amazing. It's the perfect size to hold my stuff while being both cute and functional. This particular version was kind of hard to track down in my price range, but I ended up finding it online for not too bad of a price. It goes great with the one book print jsk I have and also with classic coords.
