White Linen Tea House Meet-up!

Hi friends! <3

The yearly White Linen meet-up is usually one of the biggest meet-ups our comm has. However due to questionable weather, many decided to not come. A few of us still went and had a nice time anyways.

Love the fancy tableware...

They added some new tea options to the menu and this one sounded interesting...

The tea was very good. It smelled like hot cocoa, but tasted like a light chai...

Salads arrived next. Wish there was a little more dressing...

And then, our afternoon tea spread; fruits, finger sandwiches, scones, and little desserts. My favorite sandwich was the chicken salad this time instead of the egg salad. Maybe they tried a different recipe or something? Everything was delicious though <3

After we were done eating, we took some coord pics and looked around in the antique store next door. I thought these geisha spreader knives were pretty quirky...

Thoughts:

I was horrified when I saw the condition of the box it came in. I asked the lady at the post office what happened to it. They just shrugged and said "customs." I'm like what?! I've gotten mail from overseas before but never one this terrible looking. It looks like it was thrown around and squashed by something heavy during transit. They gave me a phone number to call and complain, but nobody answered when I called. Thankfully nothing inside was damaged though.

The set is cute and the bodice part fits me a lot better. I like the two smaller hair clips more than the one larger clip too. I will be putting the other set up for sale in my next round of listings. Hopefully it will go on to a new home. I'm looking forward to wearing this one sometime soon. Maybe to a meet-up next month?

Snow Party High Waist Dress Set Opening!

Lucky pack season is here! I decided to get two this year. One from Angelic Pretty and one from Metamorphose. The Meta one showed up first, so I'll be sharing what all came in it with you!

Thoughts:

The package arrived within a week or so after ordering. I was concerned about the hole in the side of the box, but thankfully no damage seems to have resulted from it.

The print is very cute and perfect for a winter themed coord. It features snowmen and little animals playing in the snow. The fabric is cotton with a polyester/chiffon type trim and soft lace. The waist bow is detachable along with the waist ties. There are decorative gold buttons on the bodice.

I was hoping to get the regular waisted version of this set, but it sold out quickly and I ended up with this one instead. I didn't try the socks or hair clip on because I was more concerned about the jsk not fitting. Sadly when I tried it on, I knew it wouldn't work out. The high waist line cuts across my chest instead of going under it (as shown in the first try-on pic). I tried unbuttoning the straps and repositioning it to sit properly and it looks a lot better (as shown in the second try-on pic). However, the straps are too short to meet with the back of the jsk to fasten together. I would need another few inches or so for it to work. I will put the set aside for now and keep checking Meta's website in case the other one gets restocked. If I can get ahold of the other one, then I will probably sell this set.
