Create a Coord That Sparks Joy...

Hi friends! <3

I decided to use my favorite piece from the last post, and make a fairly simple sweet coord in pink x lavender with some old-school elements. I would also include a pair of small gold hoop earrings and a pearl bracelet or wristcuffs.

This coord sparks joy for me because it reminds me of when I was starting out in lolita. Coords were simpler and didn't requiring a lot of effort and extra things. I think a lot of people have forgotten that. You don't need to have a giant wig, large prop, and a million accessories to make a decent coord. Others must feel the same as I've noticed a mild return to old-school looks as well. What do you think?

  1. I also noticed a revival of appreciation for oldschool. Although I have several friends whose style always gravitated towards simpler coords. There's nothing wrong with simpler coords, and there never was (the days of OTT Sweet that shaped the 'million accessories and a wig are a must' mindset are long gone now, it's been 8 years since 2012). What does get me though is people who comment on posts with simpler coords with concrit that is basically about adding stuff, clearly not understanding that a complete coord can be simple on purpose and projecting their own style and/or prejudices onto others. This is a lovely coord and I could very much see one of the friends I mentioned wearing something like this. :)

  2. What a lovely coord! I really like the color balance. I personally tend towards simpler coords, although since I've been acquiring more accessories, that's going out the window as I stack multiple rings on my fingers.
