Winter ILD Coord!

Although the local comm had a meet-up planned for ILD, I did my own thing. I wasn't feeling up to socializing and preferred to do something more low-key. Instead, I went out with a friend to my favorite antique shop and had a look around at all the neat items. I loved this pink dragon teapot...

And the cozy, floral vibes going on here...

Afterwards, we got some bubble tea. I had a matcha one and tried a raspberry "plankie." Which is some sort of cross between a pastry heart and a donut. It was interesting. Not sure if I'd get another. Might have been better warmed up.

Tora Con Day 2 & Haul!

So, today was the last day of the con. We got up a little early to pack and check out, before heading over to the con. I was excited to get there for rehearsal since I was modeling in the fashion show.

There was a good representation of the various styles. Once everyone knew the plan and had done a few practice walks/poses, staff began letting people in. There was a nice sized crowd. After we each took our turn on the stage, audience members were allowed to ask us questions. Some of the ones we got asked were "What got you interested in lolita?" and "What is your dream dress and why?" It was fun!

 Then it was time for a final walk through of the vendor and artist alley area. I splurged on  a headdress I had been debating over as well as got a few more small things. But not too bad in the end.

So... I kinda went ahead and did the made to order for Holy Lantern again. My package arrived and I'm going to go ahead and open it up. This time I got the zipper style jsk and matching otks in navy. I think the only color left I'm after is pink. Maybe it will be an option next time :-)

Thoughts:

I love this print! <3 The jsk is super comfy and looks just like the wine colored one I have (but in a different color of course). The navy color for this style jsk was a new thing and there was no sample image showing online when I ordered. I was unsure what color the zipper would be; silver or gold.  It ended up having gold zippers. Either one is fine with me. I'm hoping the otks can match with one of my Moitie dresses as well. Looking forward to wearing it sometime soon :-)

Karaoke Meet-up!

Went to karaoke with some lolita friends. We sang a bunch of songs and even did a few together. Definitely a fun time :-) I tried to create a comfy coord that could be worn with my new usakumya bag. I used white to lighten up the feel of the dark colors and print. I'm not quite sure if it worked so well, but I think it worked fairly well.

Holy Lantern Opening! (Round Two)

I got a special package in the mail today... Holy Lantern! <3 Yes, I know I already posted an opening for this print before, but I loved it so much I decided to join in the made to order that was happening.

I got the other version of the jsk which has a regular waist and cute double zippers on the front in wine. I also added the matching wine otks and the lavender otks to go with my other jsk.

Thoughts:

The wine colorway is gorgeous <3 I was unsure at first since it is so different from my usual sweet pastel style, but went with it. I figured I could always sell it if it didn't work out. I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would, and can't even consider selling it now. The other jsk version seems like it will fit me better too. The gold zippers have pulls shaped like crosses that are super cute. I noticed that the otks have an error. The wine ones are supposed to have gold stars at the top, but instead have silver. And the lavender ones have gold instead of silver. This isn't too noticeable until you're up close. I don't think they can be returned, so I'll keep them for now. I'm looking forward to creating some new coords soon so I can wear everything!
