The Lolita Collective Order #2 Opening!

 Hi friends! <3

Shortly after I got my first order from the Lolita Collective, they sent me a free shipping code. I was quite surprised. Since I had wanted a few more things anyways, I went ahead with my second order.

Thoughts:

I am so pleased with my order! It came in two parts. One from China and one from the US. All of the items are very nice quality. The ring is made out of a shiny and thick plastic with tons of glitter in it. It fits comfortably on my finger. The socks have a fabric similar to tights and are soft yet stretchy. They actually go over my knees too, which being a taller lolita is a rare thing. The fabric is semi-thick and the pattern/design is barely affected when wearing. They do have a seam that runs along the sides. I don't think it is too noticeable with the light colored backgrounds. On the blue pair, the brand name is printed along the design, but then on the backside it is backwards. I didn't notice until I was reviewing my pics later. I don't know if that was done on purpose or an accident. The brooch is cute and was also on sale. I've gotten Peppermint Fox items before on their main site and they are great. I'm looking forward to adding these items to my wardrobe :-)

UBCon Day 1 & 2!

Hi friends! <3

This weekend is UBCon! The boyfriend and I are helping out a friend who's vending there. We're also going to wander around looking at all the goods for sale and maybe check out a few panels.

Day 1 (Friday)

My friend didn't need us until the con started which was in the evening. Which was good as I had work until then. I changed when I got home and then the boyfriend drove us over. I went with a cute and comfy panda outfit featuring sparkly golden bows and a rainbow parfait necklace and striped fuzzy socks. I also brought along my little panda friend <3 We helped out most of the night, taking turns to check out what the other vendors were selling.

Day 2 (Saturday)

I had a half day of work (8am until 12pm) then went home to change. This time I wore a lolita coord featuring foxes and grapes. Thankfully I had laid out everything the night before so it didn't take too long to get ready. Then I drove myself to the con. It was already pretty busy and it took awhile to find a parking spot. I made my way over to the booth and saw that lunch had just arrived. I helped out most of the day and later, went to a panel about how to be a magical girl. One of the tasks involved designing a transformation outfit out of rolls of toilet paper. It was fun. Once the vendor room closed for the night, we headed home. I dropped off my car and then we went to pick up some Chinese food for dinner.

Wore a sweet coord in navy x green x silver. Found this vineyard mural in one of the hallways and thought it would make for a great background.

Lolita & J-Fashion Golf Meet-up!

Hi friends! <3

I met up with the semi local comm to do some mini golfing indoors at a mall. It was called Glowgolf and had lots of cool glow in the dark decorations, and interesting obstacles to navigate around.

This parrot seemed right at home among all the bright colors...

It was fun. I even got a hole in one! Some of those holes were very tricky. I ended up winning a free game on the bonus hole (where you return your ball).

Afterwards, we wandered in a few stores and got lunch. I tried this special bourbon bbq burger. It was good, but could have used more sauce...

**********************************************************

Wore a classic coord in black x brown x ivory.

I went with a simple and comfy look with minimal poof. First time wearing my necklace and these otks. They work well with this coord :-)

Thoughts:

It's so cute! <3 The fox is adorable. The enamel is highly detailed and well done. The metal is thick and sturdy. I was surprised that it had two pin backs, but it is a little heavier than their usual wooden pins/brooches. I was not happy with the delay as I was looking forward to wearing it in the fall on my jacket. The free gift sounded nice, but it turned out to be a coupon with a discount code for my next enamel pin order. I would have preferred a postcard or art print featuring the crown fox. Then I could frame it for display. For now though, I'll just hang onto the coupon. Hopefully they do more fox pins in the future. Maybe a princess one? ;-)

Allentown Art Fest Meet-up!

Hi friends! <3

I went to an art festival downtown with the local comm. It was really hot out, so I tried to dress suitably for the weather and wear lightweight accessories. We walked around for a few hours before heading back home. The artwork/crafts on display were beautiful and made me want to resume my crafting/sewing projects.

Classic/sweet coord; navy x white x silver.

Ring~ Angelic Pretty "Dreamy Horoscope Unicorn"

Peppermint Fox MTO Opening!

Hello friends! <3

I'm super excited to open this package. It's from Peppermint Fox. This was the one that I had been hoping would arrive in time for my previous blog entry. It was my birthday present to myself ;-) Peppermint Fox is an indie brand in Australia that is well known for their cute artwork that is mainly showcased through pins/brooches. I heard they were doing a made-to-order event and decided to join in. Since I love foxes, I tried to get fox items that would match with my lolita dresses. I ended up with 2 pins and 1 necklace.

Thoughts:

The made-to-order ran February 4th through the 11th. I placed my order towards the end of the deadline. Maybe the 10th? Orders were sent out the end of February. Mine arrived March 31st.

I love how cute everything is! <3 The foxes are adorable and full of details. The artwork looks to be mounted on a sturdy wooden base that is thick and durable. A protective clear coating prevents damage to the artwork itself. The pin/pendant backings are adhered securely with little to no evidence of glue. The outside edges are neatly trimmed and smooth. The chain for the necklace is very long, which is nice but doesn't seem to be adjustable since it has such narrow links. I may switch the chain with a different one I have.

I love everything I got from Peppermint Fox! The prices were reasonable and the quality is great. Everything came packaged well. They even included a bonus postcard. I would definitely recommend checking out their website (www.peppermintfox.com) and/or ordering from them! :-)
