ILD Tea Meet-up!

Hi friends! <3

I know ILD was awhile ago, but the nearby comm delayed having their meet-up due to everyone having such busy schedules. Fortunately doing so, we were able to gather in a fairly large group. Due to being such a hit last time, we went back to Mad Hatter again.

Looking good...

I started off with a few things. The chocolate chip scone was delicious... 

Then, the tea arrived. I got one called Alice's Choice. It had a nice fruity sweet taste...

Sandwiches came out soon after and were gone in no time...

Bingo sheets were passed out once everyone had their fill of the food. Being a sweet lolita, I related most strongly to "pinks don't match." Although that can apply to other colors and styles as well. Such as gothic lolitas having non-matching blacks. Lol. Which of these can you relate to...?

So close, but not a winner. Bingo prizes included an Angelic Pretty gift card, loose-leaf tea, and fancy chocolates. A fierce battle of rock-paper-scissors ensued when a three-way tie occurred..

There were also various raffle prizes, so everyone got to win something. I chose this ring because it looked elegant and I thought it would go great with my gothic items. I believe it's called a poison ring. There is a latch on the side you can undo which opens the top to reveal a small hollow space inside. Pretty cool huh...

We then went outside to take pics in front of the café/restaurant. I quite liked this one. This giant tea cup used to be part of an amusement park ride. I'm glad they found a way to re-use it here. Good from a promotional angle too...

Does This Meet Spark Joy Meet-up & Mini Haul!

So, I did something a little different today and went to a swap meet... in Canada! Now the last time I went to a meet-up in Canada was a few years ago. There was a small group of us and it rained about half the day. Going to a more recent one, would be a good opportunity to check out the comm/area again, and to see if I would be interested in attending more meet-ups over there. 

Since it was a swap meet, I brought a bunch of items from my sales album and took my time arranging everything so that it was displayed nicely. I even prepared and brought a print out listing each item, the sizing (for clothing) and prices. After setting up, I was ready to start in on the food and drinks...

This tea sounded traditional and I thought it would be interesting to try. I usually like green tea, but this one was kind of bitter and would have been better if I maybe added some sugar or honey. I didn't add either though as I tend to add too much and that would ruin the natural taste of the tea...

The food was set up buffet style along a counter. There were meats, cheeses, veggies, fruit, and desserts. I tried to get a little bit of everything. It was tasty. I loved the cute toothpicks that looked like a rose and unicorn...

There was also a colorful (and tempting) tower of macarons...

The peachy-pink ones were rose flavored. Super yummy!

Once I was done eating, I wandered around for awhile, browsing through the items for sale, hoping for some good finds. It was nice to see some items in person rather than just online. There was also an egg hunt with candy prizes inside. One lucky person won a larger prize...

Later, I went back for more tea and tried this one. It was delicious! <3

While sipping my tea, I relaxed and played Pokémon Go. That day also happened to be community day featuring Bagon. I didn't get any shinies, but there are a few high level ones I may evolve later on...

Before leaving, I got a nice coord pic in the special photo booth area. There was a cool backdrop with balloons and a shiny pastel banner. I think it was a good idea to have something like that at a meet-up. Sometimes it's not easy finding a good spot for photos; both in regards to adequate lighting and a clear background.

The meet-up was inspired by Marie Kondo's KonMari Method which focuses on keeping things that "spark joy" and getting rid of those that don't. This dress set is the very first thing I bought from Angelic Pretty when starting out in lolita. It originally came with a barrette, but I sold that and got the headbow instead. I've worn this set a bunch of times and it makes me feel happy each time I wear it. I included a few new items in my coord that I had not worn yet. I think it turned out fairly well, don't you?

I sold a headband, did one trade, and ended up buying a few things. I was going to buy another couple items but the one person forgot to bring them. Hopefully next time I see them they will bring them.

Tora Con: Day 2!

So, today was the second (and last) day of the con. I went to more panels and prepared myself to walk in the lolita fashion show that a friend was running. Some of the comm members were in it too. It was great to see everyone and what coords they chose to wear. There was a decent sized crowd at the show too. I'd say it went well.

I love it! <3 The plastic is good quality and durable. It has silver glitter and heart shaped confetti in it too. It's so cute and will match with a lot of my wardrobe. I can't wait to wear it with a coord soon!

Asian Fusion Bubble Tea Meet-up!

Went to a casual meet-up with a nearby comm for some bubble tea and sushi. The restaurant had a laid back feel to it and everything was delicious. Would definitely love to go again sometime ;-)

I had a strawberry milk bubble tea. It was super yummy and sweet <3

I also got the tempura (fried shrimp) sushi roll. Mmm <3

Totoro Movie Meet-up!

Hi friends! <3

Went to the movies to see Totoro with some lolita friends. I guess there is a Studio Ghibli Fest going on where select movie theaters are showing a different Ghibli movie each month.

I might have to go in July for Kiki's Delivery Service, and November for Howl's Moving Castle as those are my two favorites. And maybe September too for Nausicaa :-)

The movie started right in, but didn't have any sound.

It got restarted and everything was fine.

After the movie, we got some bubble tea at a café.
